Head MicroGel Extreme

The Head MicroGel Extreme is a premier tennis racquet recommended for aggressive professional players at the 4.0+ level seeking maneuverability, spin, and pop. It’s a new and updated version of the MicroGel Extreme ’08, in that it features a new cosmetic and grommet system.

It utilizes DuPont Teflon friction-reducing Polymer that enables the strings to slide through the grommets without any friction. In return, this dramatically reduces the mechanical energy lost during direct ball impact—thereby leading to lower resistance, more string movement, and greater power. And at its core is MicroGel technology, which includes silicone-based materials combined with carbon composite fibers in the racquet hand. This causes the strings to deform and compress when impacted, allowing the impact load to be uniformly distributed—thereby creating a ‘rock-solid’ feel.
